The Soul goes “Down” to be Lifted “UP”.
This line was brought up in Torah Study on the 26th of December 2009, as a midrash(Rabbinical Story) on Abram's trip to Egypt and then back to Canon. The paraphrase of the idea goes like this –Abram had to go down into the evil of Egypt to be test his soul and then come back “up” to the Promised Land, having survived the test. I will state now that this, to me is a load of leavings by cows, at least in the form used regarding Abram.
Don't get mad, I will tell you that the statement regarding the soul, I believe to have merit. For me there has always been a number of troubling questions about the reason we exist. H'shem created the Heavens and the Earth with all that is in them, evaluated appropriate condition of the created, judged the quality to be GOOD, Blessed it, then created the next in the series. Excellently done, but then H'shem created Man, in HIS image and breathed a soul into him. Why?
We were not judged GOOD, although WE were given CHOICE. The ability to choose between Good and Evil, Life and Death, Right and Wrong, this was given to us, but WE desire to act like the Dirt or Animal part of us, not the Holy part. Why should H'shem decide to make us choose?
He actually created the Earth (HIS Garden) for US and our choice. Why?
I look for the clues regarding the “Whys”. Is it because H'shem is expecting US to be better than anything else in creation? Did Geppetto(the puppet maker) in Pinocchio want a child when he created Pinocchio?, I would say yes, but Geppetto is not G-D, although the thought might not be far off the mark. An amount of evidence can be presented to indicate that H'shem is alone, NO OTHER gods, none before, none beside and none after. H'shem is a jealous G-D, and will not share HIS GLORY. H'shem put the Breath Of Life(Holy Spirit as a Soul) in Man formed from dirt and then said be Holy, for I, your G-D am Holy.
So G-D creates man and placed a tiny speck of Holiness in that man, gives him a choice, then tests mankind. The Soul goes “Down” from H'shem, to be tested and if GOOD, Lifted “UP”. The tests include everything where you or I are presented with a choice of Right or Wrong. Seems like some kind of “Weeding Out” of those souls, for some purpose we are not told about. Why?
Last, it is pointed out throughout the Tanach, that H'shem knows/knew the END of time at the Beginning, and told US about it. For me this was also a revelation, regarding the depth and breath of My G-D's KNOWLEDGE. Consider then: To know what the end actions of all people, their deeds, words, and choices they made, what the results from each and every interaction whether directly or indirectly inflicted by any set of events on a person. The variables involved with just trying to point out how complex this is idea is overwhelming. I have enough trouble thinking over a ten minute conversation with friends and all of the ramifications and input data about each perception recorded, that is hard to grasp. Also consider then: that G-D would be aware of maybe 18 billion people in 6,000 years and all of the choices each would make. That is really hard for me to grasp the idea and hold on to.
Oh, you might ask “How is it possible that any being could know all of a persons thoughts?” Remember that G-D put a little Holy Spirit in each one of us. It is not possible to do or think anything which G-D would not Know, no matter where you went, H'shem is always there with you and your thoughts. You still must choose, it is just that HE already knows what you chose, as if it has already happened for HIM, because knowing from the Beginning to End before saying "Let There Be . . .", all outcomes are already known. We still must live and make the choices, we are not forced to choose anything, so it is not predestined –just pre-known.
So back to the original thought, G-D set a soul into each of us, and then tests it, for HIS purposes. It really could be something beyond our comprehension, this reason and benefit for passing the test so our Soul can be lifted "UP" again.
Shalom(Peace)
Yaakov

DO NOT LOOK OR READ THIS! EVER!!!!!
Whether by educational training, religious up-bringing or by you own choice, ...YOU CAN NOT SEE ANY TRUTH. Go No Farther. You have been warned.
Do you think you are fine? Try this --Write YOUR TOP TEN ABSOLUTE TRUTHS. Each TRUTH is in the form of “If my life at this moment is at risk, this truth is worth my life!”
Do you have TEN? Well, you have potential, ---watch out because you are not supposed to be able to think. It Is A Danger to THEM.
OK, maybe you can mentally glean information from research and examples of actual events and testing. None of this is from the Torah or Tanach, except where certain specific references are made, a hand full of cross references made by the presenters. I give you the connections below only for your personal information –things to consider. -Shalom Yaakov
p.s. I could not resist one point about the Tanach, G-D or H'shem, says "I do this
so that you will know I am G-D." Acts of faith are not required, G-D does the Proof Thing. Yaakov
Find these and pay attention closely for you will see things that contradict most teachings, but not from the Tanach or Bible.

A Question of Instructions.
A Question of Instructions.
1Kings13, In brief the Kingdom of King Solomon has been split by Hashem because of the turning away by King Solomon. Currently we have King Jeroboam for the Northern Kingdom(Ten Tribes and 10/11 - Levi) and Rehoboam for the Southern Kingdom(Judah and 1/11 - Levi). King Jeroboam does not want his kingdom going down to worship at the Temple, so he creates two Golden Calf Alters in the North. Hashem sends a prophet to speak unto the alter when the King comes to offer the first sacrifice. What the prophet speaks according to what Hashem has said, it comes true.
Our interest here is not the King or the alter, it is the prophet, for in this story to many events take place for a prophet with no name and some seemingly unrelated events to mean nothing. Let us take a look at what transpires with this prophet. The king is impressed with the words and then the actual events immediately following the pronouncements, he invites the prophet to have food and drink and rest. The Prophet replies that H'shem has said to me, take no drink, take no food there and return by a different road then how you arrived. The Prophet then leaves. An old prophet in the town hears this and goes to meet this Prophet. The old one tries to convince the Prophet to come back with him to eat and drink. The Prophet repeats all that H'shem has said. The old one says, I too am a prophet and an angel told me to bring you back to my house for food and water(this was a lie). The Prophet returns and eats and drinks there. Suddenly the Old Prophet declares to the Prophet that because you did flaunt the word of H'shem, you will die when you leave this place and your bones will not be buried with those of your fore-fathers. This all comes true.
So what can we learn here?
The Prophet demonstrated that he KNEW the instructions from H'shem, and these personal instructions he repeated twice. He apparently wanted to stop in and visit with the Old Prophet, for he took the statement that an angel said to do such and such rather than the word of H'shem. This sounds like Adam in the Garden, to me.
We are told in Mosaic Law that we are to trust a prophet, except when they go against the word of H'shem. If H'shem wanted this to happen, this Prophet would have been told by H'shem. The Prophet turned his back upon H'shem. Since when does an Angel over ride the word of H'shem? –Never. There is no excuse in this case that I can see, what about you?
We are each given to know the word of H'shem, in the Torah, in the Tanach, in a Bible, each of these gives us the ability to know and learn the Word. When we hear or are provided in some means information that we then assume to be true without verification with the Word of Hashem –WE are at risk of our Soul; our Life; our children's lives and that of our community! This is so, because we act in accordance to our beliefs even if we never speak about them to another human being.
If you are blessed to be a spiritual leader and you point others away from H'shem and HIS’s Laws, what will be your reward? This is simple to understand, --you can repent for your actions and deeds, thereby receive forgiveness; however, the souls that you mistreated will weight upon your soul. “Ezekiel 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.”[King James Version of the Bible]. This is whole chapter gives confirmation to spiritual leaders and what they are required to perform.
If you think that you are not involved with this, try:
(Ezekiel 34:6) My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.
(Ezekiel 34:7) Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
(Ezekiel 34:8) As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;
(Ezekiel 34:9) Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD;
(Ezekiel 34:10) Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
H'shem requires more from those that know better, and if you are opposed to H'shem, this is also taken care of.
Last item: Isaiah 27:11 ...”For they are a people without understanding(or not having the desire to know?); that is why their Maker will show them no mercy, their Creator will deny them grace.
Chapter 27 is an interesting read about “In That Day”
