What does is mean to be chosen by G-D?
First try replacing “Chosen” with “EXAMPLE”! --for simpler understanding.
For the Children of Israel, what I see in the Torah(5 books of Moses), Chosen means precisely that:
The Chosen are the example for the world to demonstrate that: The Living G-D of Abraham, Issac and Jacob IS; that there is only ONE and that we are to love the LORD with All of our heart, all of our soul and all of our being; and how HE wants us to behave.
If the Chosen live according to H'shem's requirements, all of the earth will see –Ultimately it is the Last Day; while living only partly according to the LAW –H'shem blesses and punishes Us to teach Us; If we turn our back upon G-D and HIS blessings, –Great Punishment for is given to the Chosen, but a remnant will be spared to continue the example(Chosen) people. The people of the earth will still have the example and see(know). If G-D utterly destroys the Chosen, then mankind should never had the Breath of Life placed in it, G-D would have failed. This is Not Possible with G-D. **Hitler is reported to have had the goal of removing the Jews from the earth, so that their would be proof that their G-D was no god at all. Where is Hitler? There are still Jews on the earth, G-D IS!
We(Israel) are H'shem's witnesses, HIS Proof, and we are going to accept H'Shem as G-D and follow HIS Laws. Then all the families of the earth with bless themselves by your name(*Abram). Being Chosen is not having the ability to choose to be a part of the deal, you simply Are Chosen. Your choice is whether to be blessed or punished. Those that are not of the Chosen, must choose to be included and the testing is harder(by H'shem), but as rewarding in the end.
Praised be the Name of the MOST HIGH, for HIS mercy and HIS love endures forever. Amen.
Make your choice, Good that you live or Evil that you ….! It's your choice!
*Genesis 12 – H'shem call unto Abram and tells him of these blessings.

Truth?
Where it the Truth today?
At one time there were truths. It did not matter what your religious affiliation. Those in control of the Religion may or may not have any knowledge of Truth. But many of those who attended a worship service were looking for the Truth and from that they could learn who to ask for help in life. They could learn who(a god) to pray to; What was expected by that god; How to live righteously before that god. The way many knew they were following the right religion was determined by how they felt in that worship service. This I suspect is mostly true. The worshipers are the Flock, Sheep or the Pastured of G-D. Not enough wit or desire to really question what they are told. A Shame.
Because of the willingness of the flock to be lead, --there arose people who found great power, personal glory, political authority as a leader of the flock. I do believe that once in a while one of these leaders will truly seek G-D and HIS will, but it is rare to find one of these, I am still looking for my second one. This last is the kind of leader speaks of references to Prophecy and G-D's willingness to forgive, and so on.
Back on subject, To maintain their power, they drew lines around the sheep and the theology of the sect by perverting the Word of G-D to give and keep power over the flock. Notice that teaching what the Master of the Legions wants, or desires of us, has no place here, --for if that were the consideration, striving for Righteousness and seeking the Truth would lead to only one way of thinking. Hence for these false shepherds, no job, no personal glory and no control for personal or political gain. All would be about H'Shem and goodness, blessings, protection, safety and all the rest H'shem has promised those that Love HIM.
So, ….Where is the Truth? You can find the Truth in the writings of Moses and most of the Tanach(Old Testament). You will still need to seek H'shem, and an understanding of what is written in those most ancient of writings and instructions. The secret is to Seek, Question, Compare and Pray for Understanding, Face Temple Mount in Jerusalem in order to be heard (according to the Promise made to King Solomon, for G-D Himself.)
If you have questions, I would love to help you find the answer, but you must ask first. Email me at yaakov@ask-james.com
