“The Lord(Adonai) is my shepherd, I shall not want. . . .”

In Psalm 23, King David declares “The Lord(Adonai) is my shepherd, I shall not want. . . .”

This phrase is one of the most well known in all of the world. King David(probably written when he was a young shepherd himself) demonstrates what we should expect from our leaders. First from our religious leaders which are to lead us to King David's Shepard(G-D). Then if we as a people allow ruler to lead us, we set and uphold how our leaders should treat us.

I am not speaking or writing about politics here, I only present that we should require our leaders to be shepherds also. Back to the real intent here: Our religious leaders! In truth, no matter what religion you follow or contemplate, we must expect these leaders to show us how to find a higher spiritual existence. This means for most people on earth, that high existence is GOD.

Are you getting good directions from those you follow? Are they explaining where we are going? What we are required to do to get there? How we should know that were are on the right path? How to overcome the issues of life?

That was a description of what we should expect to find our direction to be and whom most of us get our directions from. Let me ask you a question: During all of those songs, chants, prayers and sermons, did you hear the answers to these questions? Who is my GOD? What does HE want from me? How does HE grant me forgiveness?

Many of us are like sheep, deciding to let others show us that which we believe ourselves unable to understand. There is bad news for us sheep! GOD does not forgive us for what we do that is wrong, based on “I did not know!” or “They told me that this is what I am to do!”, it does not work for anyone in the OLD Testament(If you are other than an Jew) and in the Tanach if you ARE A JEW! You are still responsible to G-D for what YOU do or say . . . . ! Stories in the Tanach(Old Testament) that include: The Garden of Eden(starting at Genesis 3:14)—each are punished only for what each performed, not for what they were told to do by another. The snake received a special punishment for leading Eve astray.

Leading people away from the G-D? What does G-D declare is in store for YOU?

Ezekiel 34:2) 'Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, even to the shepherds: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Woe unto the shepherds of Israel that have fed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the sheep? 3) Ye did eat the fat, and ye clothed you with the wool, ye killed the fatlings; but ye fed not the sheep. 4) The weak have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought back that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force have ye ruled over them and with rigour. 5) So were they scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food to all the beasts of the field, and were scattered. 6) My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill, yea, upon all the face of the earth were My sheep scattered, and there was none that did search or seek.

Ezekiel 34:7) Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: 8) As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely forasmuch as My sheep became a prey, and My sheep became food to all the beasts of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did My shepherds search for My sheep, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not My sheep; 9) therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD: 10) Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require My sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the sheep; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; and I will deliver My sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.

Looking for a good shepherd requires that we individually stay alert and attentive to the path we are being told to follow. We need to know G-D's Laws which HE gave to Moses, in the Pentateuch(Torah, or Writings of Moses). We are still responsible for what we do, no matter what people tell us to do.

If you are a leader and think that G-D is not or that HE has no power, the future does not look good for you or your family if you have been leading away from G-D and doing evil. Turn back now and strive to make amends before the GOD of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, then straighten out your followers NOW.

Shalom, May we all have open eyes, unplugged ears and unclouded minds. Amen
