Isaiah 29, Understanding

Isaiah 29 – A set of Prophecies

1 Ah, Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add ye year to year, let the feasts come round!

Ariel = Lion of G!D, and are David camped. Add ye year to year, … Over time or years will pass maybe In The Future...

2 Then will I distress Ariel, and there shall be mourning and moaning; and she shall be unto Me as a hearth of God.

In The Future I will distress the City Ariel and she will be to me Ariel(Lion of G!D) The translations of some sections is poorly done, and when looking in various Tanachs you will see this pointed out. I am using MY Understanding of these texts to clarify the prophecies as I understand them. “hearth of G!D” literally reads “Will be Ariel” in the hebrew above. This I translate as “Will be the Lion of G!D” as the name says. So who is the “Lion of G!D”? --At the end.

3 And I will encamp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mound, and I will raise siege works against thee.

G!D will cause battles against the city, siege and mound were used to battle against fortified cities.

4 And brought down thou shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust; and thy voice shall be as of a ghost out of the ground, and thy speech shall chirp out of the dust.

You will be so small and but a remembered, seaming to be like a ghost, so that there is almost no memory of you. Do we remember the events of the 1930's and 40's? -Yes but we have not learned that G!D is G!D and have not returned unto HIM.

5 But the multitude of thy foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones as chaff that passeth away; yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly--

Self-explanatory as a multitude of foes and enemies so great that they appear as dust and chaff, but in an instant, suddenly --- I drawn your attention to the world news these days of 2011, where so many nations and people gather against the Jews and Israel, also against the U.S.A. (How the last fits in the prophecy I have yet to see clearly.)

6 There shall be a visitation from the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.
The L!RD of HOSTS will visit with these great signs, thunder, earthquake, great noise, might winds and devouring fire (These are the signs of fulfillment, and this almost sounds like a volcano.)

7 And the multitude of all the nations that war against Ariel, even all that war against her, and the bulwarks about her, and they that distress her, shall be as a dream, a vision of the night.
{פ} 8 And it shall be as when a hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth, but he awaketh, and his soul is empty; or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh, but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite--so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

These two verses describe how the nations think they are doing something and they are not doing what they believe they are doing, but they will wake up to what is true.

Isaiah 29:9) Stupefy yourselves, and be stupid! Blind yourselves, and be blind! ye that are drunken, but not with wine, that stagger, but not with strong drink. 10) For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes; the prophets, and your heads, the seers, hath He covered. 11) And the vision of all this is become unto you as the words of a writing that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying: 'Read this, I pray thee'; and he saith: 'I cannot, for it is sealed'; 12) and the writing is delivered to him that is not learned, saying: 'Read this, I pray thee'; and he saith: 'I am not learned.'

Verses 9 – 12 At first glance these seem to be about the Children of Israel, for the current city of Ariel is in Ephriam's territory. Here are the issues, First there is no evidence connecting Ariel of now with the one David camped at, and I have not found the reference to this event in the Tanach yet. What we do have is Jacob's blessing from his death bed. (Genesis 49:9 Judah is a lion's whelp; from the prey, my son, thou art gone up. He stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as a lioness; who shall rouse him up?) Here Judah is referred to as a young lion(whelp), and David is From Judah whence this section refers to the Children of Judah. They will not be able to see or understand these prophecies, nor even read them to gain understanding. The L!RD has placed the in a stuper, thereby unable to understand or discernment of this prophecy.

Isaiah 29: 13) And the Lord said: Forasmuch as this people draw near, and with their mouth and with their lips do honour Me, but have removed their heart far from Me, and their fear of Me is a commandment of men learned by rote; 14) Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the prudence of their prudent men shall be hid. 15) Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say: 'Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?'

Verses 13 – 15 the L!RD declares the reason for this stuper. They say the words of praise and go through the motions of which they were taught, but without heart or knowledge or G!D. The teaching is only that of men, not of G!D(Writings of Moses) and so have become of no value, even taking the people away from G!D.

16 O your perversity! Shall the potter be esteemed as clay; that the thing made should say of him that made it: 'He made me not'; or the thing framed say of him that framed it: 'He hath no understanding?'

In 16, we see that teaches have gone beyond defilement to what was given as teaching, and has become abhorrent. This is not so difficult to understand. If you have ever worked with mud or clay, can you grasp the idea of that dirt having anything in common with you, other than that you touched it. And, yet it challenges you upon your skill or even what business you have creating it. --Abhorrent!

17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
19 The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the neediest among men shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.
כ כִּי-אָפֵס עָרִיץ, וְכָלָהכְרְתוּ, כָּל-שֹׁקְדֵי אָוֶן. 20 לֵץ; וְנִ For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner ceaseth, and all they that watch for iniquity are cut off;
{פ} 21 That make a man an offender by words, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just with a thing of nought.

Verses 17 – 21 17, In the future Lebanon will be a field, not mountainous, and without the forests which this land has been known for, the result is the fields will be the forests. 18, When that comes about, the deaf will hear the words of a book(a computer can read a book to the deaf) and the blind will see out of obscurity(Cataract sugery?) and out of darkness(I have heard that experiments with artificial eyes is being done.) 19, The humble and needy are blessed by G!D and they will Praise HIM. 20, The actions of evil will be empty of results, the scorner will speak no more. 21, the ones that bare false witness and those that corrupt their judgment will have the result of nothing. Evil actions will be on no effect.

Isaiah 29: 22) Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale; 23) When he seeth his children, the work of My hands, in the midst of him, that they sanctify My name; yea, they shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall stand in awe of the God of Israel. 24) They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall learn instruction.

Verses 22 – 24: The L!RD, G!D of Abraham, declares about the House of Jacob, Jacob will not be shamed, nor horrified when he sees his children, and what G-D's hands have done to this people that sanctify G!D's Name, The Holy One Of Jacob, they will stand in AWE of the G!D of Israel. Those that make mistakes in their soul shall get understanding, those that mummer will learn instructions.

These seem to be regarding the Last Days and are confirmed in other prophets.
The Ariel (Lion of G-D)beyond being a being a place, which we do not really know of the location, the current location for the City in generally where located in Ephriam's Tanach's Location, Whoever, Jacob from his death bed calls Judah(the tribe where David is from) a Lion's Child(whelp). When read with that in mind, the stuper and the punishment make sense then, as Judah has had control of the teaches since King Solomon caused the split in the Kingdom.
The earth quakes and noise which will bring low the mountains and raise up the valleys(verse 6), this would cause the what is described in 17 & 18.

Shalom

Yaakov
